On Saturday, May 6th, the King’s Coronation will take place. There will be a long weekend of celebrations, with an extra Bank Holiday, and there’s a lot going on.
From the King’s Procession with the Queen Consort to the ceremony in Westminster Abbey, the Coronation Procession with the famous Gold State Coach, to the Coronation concert on Sunday 7th May at Windsor Castle (with dancers from The Royal Ballet performing), the Coronation Big Lunch bringing people together with street parties hosted across the land, plus an interactive map where you can share your party.
Finally, on Bank Holiday Monday, the Big Help Out initiative will see people helping in their local communities. See the Big Help Out website for categories of involvement.
Principal dancers with The Royal Ballet, Francesca Hayward and Marcelino Sambé, will also perform a bespoke piece of choreography for the occasion.
