Tonight on Strictly: It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kai Widdrington will set a new Guinness World Record for the most Cha Cha Cha Time Steps performed in 30 seconds. Â
The Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers have battled for the title for the last two weeks in the annual ‘Pro Challenge’, culminating in a head-to-head showdown between Kai and Neil Jones. Tonight it will be revealed that both dancers completed 15 steps, but one of Neil’s moves was disqualified, securing Kai’s record-breaking win.
The challenge was hosted by Craig Revel Horwood, with Guinness World Records official, Will Munford, overseeing the attempts.
A Cha Cha Cha time step starts with a step to the side on straight legs, then a transfer of weight from one foot to the other, settling on each heel followed by a chasse. The dancers then repeat, in the opposite direction. Our professional dancers had to keep their foot work ball flat throughout and the movement completed on both sides.
Kai will be awarded his official Guinness World Record certificate on tonight’s Strictly: It Takes Two at 1830 on BBC Two and iPlayer.
