It’s December, and the Strictly Come Dancing Musical Themed Quarter Finals are upon us.

If you haven’t yet heard the news, Nigel Harman has had to withdraw from Strictly today, due to a painful rib injury.

Following Nigel Harmanās departure from Strictly Come Dancing due to an injury, there was no public vote on Saturday evening and there will be no elimination on Sunday evening.
The judges scores from Saturday will be carried over to next week, when the audience will vote as usual.
The results show on Sunday evening at 1920 on BBC One and iPlayer will still see the professional dancers perform a routine from My Fair Lady, and superstar Joss Stone will sing āThis Timeā, from new musical The Time Traveller’s Wife.
On Saturday night Claudia caught up with Nigel and Katya about his injury. Nigel said: āI was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men, and as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in A & E. So I’ve done something to my rib basically, and it’s quite painful. Iām a little bit high on painkillers as well but Iām having a lovely time!ā
āI’ve loved it. And I am [still] loving it – it’s too soon to say ālovedā! This hasnāt really sunk in, when I watched everyone come down the stairs, I was a bit sad. I’ve been avoiding Kat all day because that makes it really real, as well.ā

When asked by Claudia how proud she is of Nigel, Katya said: āItās quite hard to talk right now, Iām not going to lie. I have absolutely loved every moment of us creating magic on the dance floor. I know the reasons you did this, for your daughter and for your parents and especially missing out on this number, I know your parents will be very, very proud of you.ā
Nigel concluded: āThe only reason Iām standing here is because of all the work you’ve [to Katya] put into me. You turn up every day with so many hundreds of great ideas. You challenge me, you push me, you support me, you make me laugh. I knew you would do extraordinary things on the floor with choreography and creativity, but most of all you’re just part of me now.ā

The remaining four couples in the competition and all through to the Semi-Finals on Saturday 9th December are: Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, and Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin.

First on the dance floor, āBelleā Ellie & Vito with a Quickstep, scoring 36.
Next up, Annabel & Johannes, dancing a Wicked Foxtrot to a score of 33.
Leyton & Nikita take on a Moulin Rouge Paso Doble, and scored 40.
Bobby & Dianne closed the show with a Salsa to the legendary Dirty Dancing theme, and they scored 34.

The Semi-Final will air at 1935 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the results show on Sunday 10th December at 1920.
Nigel and Katya will be on It Take Takes Two with Fleur East on Monday 4th December on BBC Two at 1830.
