After their performances last night, the 14 celebrities faced the public vote and one couple will be leaving tonight. Who will have the dubious honour of being first out ?

The show kicks off with Strictly’s professional dancers and then Tess Daly welcomes Claudia Winkleman, who’s back for some “dance dissection.”

The first couple safely through to next week is Robbie and Ola, followed by Lulu and Brendan (will she ever stop squealing ?), Jason and Kristina, Alex and James, Holly and Artem & Chelsee and Pasha.

Audley and Natalie are in the bottom two.

Claudia talks to the couples who are safe.Alex and Robbie were the most nervous before dancing on Saturday, and Lulu was pretty shocked to be saved.

Will Young performs hhis new single, Come On, in a very dark space, accompanied by equally gloomy dancers who are not from the show.  Why ? They are all suspended in a blue twilight with only flashes of neon yellow braces, zips or shoe laces to break up the monochrome.

Claudia loved it, and suddenly the judges have joined her upstairs, to announce a fifth member of the group – Lens lens. This is where the judges talk through parts of the dance, just as you’d see on It Takes Two during the week. It’s basically another tv screen.

Craig defends his harsh comments about Robbie last week, saying he had panache and style. Bruno talked about Anita, who made the odd mistake but carried on like a true professional, never letting the performance drop. Len said that Russell Grant was “as high as a kite” when they showed a clip of him looking ecstatic.

Next week is Broadway week, for the first time ever in Strictly history, and it’s all about musical theatre, so there follows a short clip with Jason in his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Nancy as Eliza Doolittle. There’s a trio of pink tutus and a pantomime cow, and thankfully it’s over.

There are seven couples left, so the next couple safely through are Anita and Robin, followed by Rory and Erin, Dan and Katya, Harry and Aliona and Russell and Flavia.

Nancy and Anton and Edwina and Vincent are left.  Edwina and Vincent join Audley and Natalie in the bottom two.

And finally, the result is revealed – Edwina and Vincent leave the show having been voted off.

If you missed any of the action from Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing, you can catch up with the full report and photos.
