Bruno commented on Natalie & Artem’s Salsa “you put just the right amount of fluidity and all the ingredients for a fantastic salsa.” Craig said “I couldn’t find much wrong with it. Just wonderful to watch. Brilliant.” They scored a perfect 40.
Patrick & Anya’s Waltz pleased Bruno, who said “the sense of distinction you bring onto the stage. A couple of issues on footwork but overall, very very good. But don’t tense up.” Craig said “I thought it was absolutely gorgeous and Darcey said “a charming Waltz. A true Prince Charming.” They scored 36
Sophie & Brendan’s Paso Doble to Prokofiev’s Dance of the Knights is familiar to all ballet-goers. Darcey, as a former Principal dancer with The Royal Ballet, commented “that music is so close to my heart. I loved that choreography” and they scored 35.
Suzanna & Kevin’s Foxtrot pleased Darcey, who said “you were smooth across the dance floor. You are shining again.” Len said, “a lark in the park.” They scored 38.
Len commented on Abbey & Aljaz’s samba, “to combine technique and performance is hard to achieve but you did it.” Craig found their dance “really, truly amazing.” They scored 39
At the half-way point, with each couple having performed their first dance, Natalie & Artem headed the leaderboard with a perfect 40 and Sophie & Brendan found themselves at the bottom, five points below.
Natalie & Artem’s second dance was the Argentine Tango, and Bruno said “it was incredible. The precision. The placement. The line. mesmerizing.” Craig said “what a dance” and Darcey said “I’d like a little bit more attitude in your character.” They scored 38.
Patrick & Anya tackled the Paso Doble, which Craig said “had command, but it didn’t have a Spanish feel at all and I think the dance exposed your weaknesses.” They scored 33.
Sophie & Brendan’s American Smooth wowed Darcey who said “this was your dance” and they scored 36.
Suzanna & Kevin’s salsa was “full of energy. On accession it got a tad messy” according to Len and Craig said “vivacious, darling. Vivacious.” They scored 32.
Abbey & Aljaz’s American Smooth was “totally captivating” according to Bruno and “full of charisma. You’re so watchable” from Craig. Darcey said, “you came out and sold it to me.” Len rounded up the evening by saying, “I’ll see you next week in the final.” They scored 39.
