Strictly Come Dancing week 6 – results show
The Strictly professional ladies open the show, dancing to Beyonce’s Run the World (Girls).
Claudia (in her pajamas – heavens, what is wrong with the styling this series?) introduces the treats to come – Bruce Forsyth singing and Westlife. Then we run through last night’s show as the judges comment on the performances.
The first couple safe is Anita & Robin, followed by Holly & Artem, Russell & Flavia and Harry & Aliona.
Audley & Natalie are in the bottom two, for the third time.
Claudia chats to Anita, asking “are you secretly 14?” because of her endless energy. Holly explains how they had to change the routine because of Artem’s back injury, and how they didn’t rehearse it. Artem is in considerable pain and won’t be dancing the pro dance later on – assistant choreographer Matt Flint stands in for him.
Westlife perform one of their hits on a star studded floor. No Strictly dancers though. Is this not a dance show ?
Claudia welcomes the judges and this week they have Jen’s Lens, as Len is on holiday. Jennifer Grey loved Harry, and said it was tight, sharp and he owned the dance. Alesha speaks of Anita and her inspiring performances. Craig thinks Chelsee is “dynamite.” Bruno loves Alex’s Quickstep and her delivery of it, even the collapsed ending. They end with, as Claudia puts it “The Grant” – Russell on the bronco, specs on!
Sir Bruce Forsyth puts the K into Saturday night with a song and dance routine – Young and Foolish. With his awful jokes and stuttering autocue delivery it’s easy to forget just how fabulously professional Bruce really is, when he’s in his element, doing what he does best. Brilliant. And he looks delighted with the applause.
Tess announces the next couple through to next week are Alex & James, followed by Chelsee & Pasha and Robbie & Ola. That leaves Jason & Kristina and Lulu & Brendan waiting to hear their fate. Lulu and Brendan join Audley & Natalie in the bottom two and Jason and Kristina are safe.
Claudia introduces the Strictly professional men, who will leave you Feeling Good. It’s a great routine. Strong, masculine, earthed.
It’s crunch time for the couples in the bottom two. Lulu is surprised that she’s made it this far; Audley is just doing his best.
So, Lulu and Brendan leave the show.
And could we please see Tess’s dress sense leave the show in time for next week ? Last night’s unflattering flesh coloured dress; tonight’s short black number and lewd shoes. Just not working, Tess.
