The Emerging Dancer Award, now in its second year, is an annual competition for English National Ballet to recognise and nurture talent and encourage excellence and potential within the Company.
The six Emerging Dancer nominees are James Streeter, Ksenia Ovsyanick, Laurretta Summerscales, Max Westwell, Shiori Kase, Vadim Muntagirov. At this event each of the nominees perform two solos and are judged by a panel of experts from the world of dance including English National Ballet’s Artistic Director Wayne Eagling. The winner is announced at the end of the evening together with the recipient of The People’s Choice Award.
The Emerging Dancer Award will be held at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monday 28 February 2011 at 7.30pm. Each of the six nominees will perform two solos in front of a panel of judges, and last year’s winner Anais Chalendard will also perform a solo.
