Following my recent feature on ballet wear for women, today I’d like to highlight what’s available for men to wear while ballet training. Unfortunately the range of colours isn’t as great, but with a bit of searching there are some shapes and styles that stand out above the others.
One of the sites I recemmend looking at is Yumiko, because you can customise the products to suit what you are looking for. For example, this red vest top (right) can be customised in a number of ways – from the type of fabric, to the colour, to whether or not you want a stripe down the side (and which side!), making the clothes truly yours. The company are in demand though – so you may need to be prepared to wait several weeks for your order to be delivered. Plan ahead !
For men’s tights, you can’t do better than German company Klaus Schreck, which supplies most of the ballet companies around the world. They’ll cost around £35 a pair but they’ll be worth it and can be ordered in a range of styles to suit you and hwat looks good.
