Ballet News Reviews | Lottie
Lottie is a ballet doll designed for children aged 3+. She comes in a box wrapped with green tissue paper and is the result of a year of research and development with scientific expertise from leading British academics, with consumer research, specifically to address parental concerns about other fashion dolls including negative body image and the company wanted a return to creative and imaginative play, with Lottie.
Lottie is very cute and her body is ‘childlike’ – she is aged nine and her dimensions (with the exception of her head) are based upon those devised by the academics with experience in nutrition and health. She is 7″ tall which makes her easy to pack and carry around, and she has high quality hair that doesn’t tangle easily and high quality clothes with velcro patches for easy adjustments.
On the box you’ll find a story to encourage creative play – with this Spring Celebration Ballet Lottie the story centres around dance, and the box itself can be used to create “Lottieville Theatre.”
Lottie’s arms and legs move in most directions – her turnout isn’t great for a ballet themed doll but she stands easily and her clothes are easy to swap around. She has long hair which, if she was positioned securely, could be tied up or plaited or put into a ballet bun. A handbag is included in the box and there are other accessories you can buy if you want to.
Lottie is a refreshing change and encourages positive thinking. She’d make a lovely Christmas present for a budding ballet dancer.
