Romanian-born ballet dancer, Alina Cojocaru, has been a patron of Hospices of Hope since 2008 when she performed a ballet gala to raise funds for the first in-patient and teaching hospice in Bucharest, Romania.
She subsequently performed an even more ambitious fundraising gala in 2013 raising in total over £60,000 for the facility.
Alina has given generously of her time and inspirational talent for the benefit of the patients and their families and her belief in the work and credibility of Hospices of Hope.
Alina remains one of ballet’s superstars as a leading principal dancer for English National Ballet with an international career that spans almost 20 years.
Afternoon tea with Alina
Hospices of Hope are honoured that she has agreed to speak about her life as a dancer and relationship with the charity at an afternoon tea at the Millennium Hotel, London, Mayfair on Sunday 20th November 2016.
This exclusive event will provide an opportunity to hear personally from this highly acclaimed star and includes a traditional afternoon with a glass of Prosecco.
Auction items to bid for
Nutcracker is the quintessential Christmas ballet, and we have 4 tickets to giveaway in aid of Alina’s charity, Hospices of Hope. English National Ballet’s acclaimed production of Nutcracker at the London Coliseum is based on a concept by Toer van Schayk. Nutcracker is choreographed by Wayne Eagling with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s well-known festive music performed live by the English National Ballet Philharmonic, with design by Peter Farmer and lighting by David Richardson.
We invite bids for these tickets and a pair of Alina Cojocaru’s signed pointe shoes which Alina will give to the winner at the theatre after any performance where she is dancing. The winner will be sent a voucher and can claim the tickets for performances between 14th December 2016 and 7th January 2017.
Alina Cojocaru dances the principal role of Clara on Thursday 15 December, 7.30pm, Saturday 17 December, 7.30pm & Thursday 22 December, 7.30pm. Please note that casting is subject to change.

Hospices of Hope has been leading the way in providing palliative care for south-eastern Europe for the past 25 years. Due to poverty and broken health care systems in this region, many people still suffer needless pain. This event is to help raise funds to establish the first specialist centre for children and families affected by rare and life-limiting illnesses at Copaceni, Bucharest Romania. All proceeds from the event will go towards this project.
